Divorce: In Three Parts

I gave you my hand
which you keep
under the stairs in a water
stained box.

      * * *

For my wife I fear most
that, like a fragile
bird, I would break
both her wings.

      * * *

There is a jackal
under the cold
sheets in the empty
half of our bed.
